We are back in Österängen with the Party Tent. This time in the afternoon and in the evening, and we noticed a difference; more people are moving around outside. This has been a warm day, around 30 degres (C), so we brought with us a small container with drinking water that we offered to people. Some children that came up to us really liked this. 😊 We see that some people who just passed us last time, now have more courage to approach us and receive a cup of coffee. We had some good conversations today too.
I am thinking of the family of indian heritage living in Österängen and who stopped by. The husband started a conversation with us. They were Hindus. The husband claimed that it is the same God behind all religions, but that you have different namnes for God; we got the chance to show him another picture, and he listened, and we listened to him. We had a good conversation. We were allowed to put a hand on him and bless him, and he blessed us as well, and he was thankful for the conversation. We hope and believe that this gav him something to think about, and maybe the family will approach us again next time we are in Österängen in about two weeks time.
I also thing about the man who stopped by and curiously wondered why we were there. From his appearance we understood he had lived a rough life, and experienced some of the dark sides of life. He openly shared with us that he felt anxiety all the time, but that he at the same time couldn't believe something without proof. We were pulled into a long discussion about the evolution theory, the age of the earth and so on. But later we could lay our hands on him and pray for him, and something seemed to change in his attitude. He softened a bit and he seemed to be a bit happier. We asked him if he had enough courage to later that night, at home, ask God to show him if He is real. We hope he did, and hope to see this man again next time we are in Österängen, and that he then are even more happy and peaceful, and that he by then has taken one step closer a living relationship with Jesus Christ, something with has nothing with Religon to do.
Next Saturday we are again in Råslätt from 3 pm.
