A. What God is like

1.
"God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble."
(Psalm 46:1)

Is life tough? Have you got lost in life?
Then search for the one who really can give us life,
He who sees us, want fellowship with us,
and want to guide us.

2.
"And so we know and rely on the love God has 
for us. God is love. Whoever 
lives in love lives in God, and God in 
be saved."
(1 Joh 4:16)

The love God has for us is not intellectual. It is personal.
It come to us in the shape of a person - Jesus Christ.

3.
"The LORD does not look at the things people look at.
People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks
at the heart."
(1 Sam 16:7b)

The Lord knows us better and more in depth than any other does.
For some people it is a blessing, for others a
curse.

4.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change
like shifting shadows."
(James 1:17)

From where comes the "food" we fill us with?
From Him who offer us Life in abundance and
and who can give us what we really need?
Everything else is spiritually processed food, or even poisonous.

5.
"Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way."
(Ps 25:8-9)

The Lord takes care of those who have fallen, those who reach for Him:
Those who are nothing in themselves, are those the Lord guides and teaches how to become.

6.
"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up
for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?"
(Rom 8:31-32)

God has really done everything in order to have fellowship with us:
He sent Jesus. Thus who have we to fear?

7.
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."
(Jes 40:28-29)

The Lord is a God beyond all limits. Also in His care for us.
So also in His Care for us.

8.
"God is faithful, who has called you into
fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
(1 Cor 1:9)

Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, God wants our fellowship, He really do - and He wants to keep it.
And He really means it - He wants to continue to have fellowship wit us.

9.
"The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy. They are established for ever and ever,
enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
(Ps 111:7-8)

The Lord has endurance and do for forever what is Good and Right,
and His decisions are eternal.
They are built on Truth

10.
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever
does not love does not know God, because God is love."
(1 Joh 4:7-8)

A sign of that we know God, and is born of God
is that we love our fellow believers, brothers and sisters in Christ.

11.
"The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made."
(Psalm 145:8-9)

The Lord knows we can easily fall in sin,
but lovingly He still gives us new chances,
to everybody.

12.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
Rev 1:8

The Lord is the beginning and the end; He is here now in the presence, He was here earlier in history,
and He will always be here. He rules over everything.

B. God’s word

1.
”Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly
as you teach and admonish one another
with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit,
singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
(Col 3:16)

We net to let the Word of God take root in our life.
With its richnss and wisdom, we can then build
ourselves and others up.

2.
"For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does."
(Ps 33:4)

The Lord is the rock you can lean on when
everything else around you falls apart.

3.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is
useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
(2 Tim 3:16-17)

The Books in the Bible are all written under the influences of
the Holy Spirit.
That's why they can be used in our discipleship training of
other people.

4.
"Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight."
(Ps 119:35)

When we follow what God has told us, we receive joy in our heart.

5.
"But the seed on good soil stands for
those with a noble and good heart,
who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering
produce a crop."
(Luk 8:15)

How do we receive the Word of God? Do we let it germinate and take root in our life,
so that other people in due time can see the Fruits of the Spirit in our life?

6.
"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it
day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything
written in it. Then you will be prosperous
and successful."
(Jos 1:8)

Read the Word of God, Speak the Word of God, Do the Word of God.
This is the way to success.

7.
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."
(Ps 119:105)

The Word of God light up our road ahead, so we see where we walk.

8.
"Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.
The one who loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I too will love them and show myself to them."
(Joh 14:21)

When we follow Jesus in obedience, we show him our love,
and receive his and the Father's love in return,
and the promise of a personal meeting with him.

9.
"The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous..."
(Ps 19:8-9)

The sayings of the Lord are worth listening on,
this brings us into the Light.

10.
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
(Heb 4:12)

The word of God can work both as a scalpel and as a sword,
as well as our Doctor and our Bodyguard.

11.
"Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor
stands in the path of sinners,
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates
day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted
by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper."
(Ps 1:1-3)

The road to blessings from God is to stay away
from the path of darkness, but be soaked in the law of God.
It gives access to Life, and growth in the Kingdom of God.

12.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it
is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes,
for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed
from faith to faith;
as it is written, "The just shall live
by faith."
(Rom 1:16-17)

It is a restored relationship with God that gives us -
infact All people - salvation, and it is
through our faith, from first to last.

C. Jesus

1.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth,
and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
Me.' "
(Joh 14:6)

There is one way to the Life, to God,
and that is through Jesus Christ.

2.
"Nor is there salvation in any other,
for there is no other name under heaven
given among men by which we must be saved."
Acts 4:12

It is only through Jesus Christ
that we can be saved for the Eternity.

3.
"He is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn over all creation. For by Him
all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible
and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities
or powers. All things were created through Him and
for Him."
(Col 1:15-16)

Jesus Christ is the most important in the whole of creation;
He is the Creator, and in himself an image of God.

4.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for
us."
(Rom 5:8)

Jesus took our punishment, in order for us to go free.

5.
"Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself
likewise shared in the same, that through
death He might destroy him who had the power of death,
that is, the devil,"
(Heb 2:14)

Jesus came, became one of us, regained the power
from the devil, and gave it back
to us.

6.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed
Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty
to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year
of the Lord."
(Luk 4:18-19)

Jesus' mission:
The Gospel to the poor, in spirit, Healing to those with a broken heart,
Liberty to the captives, in spirit,
Recovery of sight to the blind, in spirit,
Liberty to the oppressed, in spirit,
an acceptable year of the Lord.

7.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and
forever."
(Heb 13:8)

Jesus Christ doesn't change.
Yesterday he was who he is today and
who he will be forever.

8.
"Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am
the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not
walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
(Joh 8:12)

When we follow Jesus we are in the light.
Then we will not, and should not
be in the darkness.

9.
"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him
and given Him the name which is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under
the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
(Phil 2:9-11)

Jesus Christ is the highest, and therefore,
Everybody will humble him-/herself before Him, willingly or unwillingly.

10.
"Let us..., look (-ing) unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith, who for
the joy that was set before Him endured
the cross, despising the shame, and
has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
(Heb 12:2)

Jesus Christ is our guide and role model, in Everything.
He showed us, that the path to Eternal joy,
often goes through suffering.

11.
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among
us, and we beheld His glory, the glory
as of the only begotten of the Father,
full of grace and truth."
(Joh 1:14)

The Son of God, came down to earth and was born
as a human being. He showed us the Father,
through grace and truth.

12.
"just as the Son of Man did not come to
be served, but to serve, and to give His life
a ransom for many."
(Matt 20:28)

It's better to serve than to be served;
Jesus Christ showed us the way for this,
by offering his life for us.

D. Salvation

1.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life. For God
did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might
be saved."
(Joh 3:16-17)

God opened up a possibility for all of us
to be saved, from the coming
wrath, and this path is through faith,
in the one who sacrificed Himself for us on the cross.

2.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift
of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
(Rom 6:23)

The Wages of sin, is something you "earn",
while the Gift of God, is something you "receive".

3.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
(1 Joh 1:9)

When we confess that we have fallen is sin, pray
for forgiveness and repent towards God, He
Han oss och, återupprättar vår relation med
Him.

4.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of
works, lest anyone should boast."
(Ef 2:8-9)

God's way of saving us goes through our faith,
not through our deeds. It's a gift and
is not through accomplishment.

5.
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory
of God,"
(Rom 3:23)

We are All lost - without God.

6.
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave
the right to become children of God, to those who believe in
His name: who were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God."
(Joh 1:12-13)

To be a "child of God" requires of us an
active action - to receive.
It is about "believing" in his name,
and be "born of God".

7.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
(2 Cor 5:17)

There is a "before", and there is an "after";
"After", we are transformed.

8.
"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be
free indeed."
(Joh 8:36)

Real freedom, comes through a
restored relationship with
Jesus Christ.

9.
"if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
and believe in your heart that God has raised
Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
(Rom 10:9-10)

It starts with the mouth and
continues with the heart; the road to
salvtion is a lifeprocess.

10.
"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and
conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom
we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins."
(Col 1:13-14)

It's our sins that keep us as captives in the darkness;
but through the Son's forgiveness of our sins,
we are allowed into the Sons Kingdom.

11.
"But if we walk in the light as He is in
the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us
from all sin."
(1 Joh 1:7)

Jesus' atonement for us on the cross, is conditional;
It applies to us, only if we
walk in the light and have fellowship with
one another.

12.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those
who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk
according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
has made me free from the law of sin and death."
(Rom 8:1-2)

For those who follow the Spirit,
and not the flesh, there is no condemnation;
They are in Christ Jesus, and live in freedom from
the law of death.

E. Holy Spirit

1.
"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you
another Helper, that He may abide with you
forever-- the Spirit of truth,"
(Joh 14:16-17a)

Vi har en ”hjälpare” tillgänglig för oss, sanningens ande.
He is sent from God on mission from Jesus, and into us.

2.
"The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit
that we are children of God, and if children, then
heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ,
if indeed we suffer with Him, that we
may also be glorified together."
(Rom 8:16-17)

The Holy Spirit and our own spirit confirm our identity
as God's children, and thus as heir together
with Christ. The promise is, if we share his suffering,
we will also share his glory.

3.
"By this we know that we abide in Him,
and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit."
(1 Joh 4:13)

By the Holy Spirit in us,
we know that we are in Jesus and he in us.

4.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control. Against such
there is no law."
(Gal 5:22-23)

When we walk in the spirit we
will gradually develop a good character;
Such does not fall under the law.

5.
”Men ni skall få kraft efter att den Helige Ande
has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses
to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

(Acts 1:8)

When we are filled with the Holy Spirit,
we are sent out on mission by Jesus: to
share our testimony and the Gospel
about Jesus, throughout the world.

6.
"For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking,
but righteousness and peace and joy
in the Holy Spirit."
(Rom 14:17)

In God's kingdom we don't live for the worldly
as food and drink, but for the spiritual
as righteousness, peace and joy in
the Holy Spirit.

7.
"But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send
to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds
from the Father, He will testify of Me."
(Joh 15:26)

The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He speaks the truth.
He comes from God and testifies of and points
to Jesus.

8.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound
mind."
(2 Tim 1:7)

When we have the Holy Spirit, we can act with power,
in love and with a sound mind.

9.
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior
toward man appeared,
not by works of righteousness which we have done,
but according to His mercy He saved us,
through the washing of regeneration
and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He
poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
that having been justified by His grace
we should become heirs according to
the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying,
and these things I want you to affirm constantly,
that those who have believed in God
should be careful to maintain good works.
These things are good and profitable to
men."
(Tit 3:4-8)

Our salvation is by the grace of God, through
the baptism in water and with the Holy Spirit.
Our own deeds add nothing to this.
But good deeds are a proof of our faith,
and thus good and profitable.

10.
"Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God
has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit
who was given to us."
(Rom 5:5)

We can have hope, because God's love
has been infused into our hearts,
through the Holy Spirit He has given us.

11.
"Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let
every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit."
(Acts 2:38)

The way into the Kingdom of God and into God's family,
is through Repentance, Baptism in water
and Baptism with the Holy Spirit. Then
we receive forgiveness for our sins, and life.

12.
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father
will send in My name, He will teach you all
things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."
(Joh 14:26)

As God's children and belonging to God's family,
we have received a Helper, the Holy Spirit.
He is our guide through life.

F. A growing disciple

1.
"As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord,
so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him
and established in the faith,
as you have been taught, abounding
in it with thanksgiving."
(Col 2:6-7)

Faith is coupled with obedience;
When we have received Jesus Christ in our life,
or rather become a part in him, we also need
to live in accordance with the teaching we have received,
with our solid foundation in him, and show overflowing
gratitude.

2.
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God, which is your
reasonable service."
(Rom 12:1)

As part of God's family we belong to God,
and it's him we shall serve by
living according to his will for us, and
do what he want us to do, in service
to him.

3.
"So then, my beloved brethren, let every
man be swift to hear, slow to
speak, slow to wrath."
(James 1:19)

Something that characterizes a growing disciple,
is that he is a good listener, before he starts talking.
He also doesn't allow himself to be controlled by his emotions.

4.
"And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that you may prove what is
that good and acceptable and perfect
will of God."
(Rom 12:2)

Our thoughts are a battlefield where a war of
death and life takes place; we win this war
by choosing which thoughts we keep,
and which we reject.

5.
"He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you But to do
justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly
with your God?
(Micah 6:8)

The core in God's will for us is:
that we do what is right, love mercy
and walk humbly with God.

6.
"Let each of you look out not only
for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Let this mind be in you which was also
in Christ Jesus,"
(Fil 2:4-5)

When we belong to Jesus, we can no longer
just think of ourselves and put ourselves first
and our needs; we can no longer
be "individualists". Like Jesus, we also
need to look after the needs of others
and what is best for them.

7.
"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy
and beloved, put on tender mercies,
kindness, humility, meekness,
longsuffering; bearing with one another,
and forgiving one another, if anyone has a
complaint against another; even as Christ
forgave you, so you also must do.".”
(Col 3:12-13)

Forgiveness, is one of the signs of God's
elect and holy; it is both a choice and
a result of the fruit of the Spirit.

8.
"Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be
the glory both now and forever. Amen."
(2 Pet 3:18)

Part of life as a disciple of Jesus
is to be constantly ready to grow,
mature and learn new things.

9.
"As each one has received a gift,
minister it to one another,
as good stewards of the manifold
grace of God."
(1 Pet 4:10)

As brothers and sisters in faith we are to serve one another
with the very spiritual gift we have received.
This is how we build the body of Christ.

10.
"Let no one despise your youth,
but be an example to the believers in
word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith,
in purity."
(1 Tim 4:12)

Our maturity in Christ is disconnected
from our physical age.
The growth- and maturity process starts
from the moment we are bornagain.

11.
"Take root and ground yourself in Him,
so that you may be able to comprehend
with all the saints what is the width and length
and depth and height, and know
the love of Christ which passes knowledge;
that you may be filled with all the fullness
of God."
(Ef 3:17-19)

We need to have our solid foundation in Him
who exeeds all dimensions, and get to know
the love of Christ, so that we may be
fully filled with the fullness of God.

12.
"I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in
him, bears much fruit; for without
Me you can do nothing."
(Joh 15:5)

Our life as a growing disciple
to Jesus, is completely dependent on
that we hold on to and remain in
Jesus. Without Him we
can do nothing.

G. Prayer

1.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives, and he who
seeks finds, and to
him who knocks it will be opened."
(Matt 7:7-8)

Never give upp seeking the Lord. Do it
daily. There is always more to receive,
because those who seek Him with a pure heart
will be richly blessed.

2.
"Be anxious for nothing, but
in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made
known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus."
(Phil 4:6-7)

As disciples of Jesus we need to
learn to "let go" and trust
in God; it is when we "give" our
unruly thoughts, feelings and will
to Him, and instead thank God,
that we get Peace.

3.
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful
and thankful."
(Col 4:2)

Persistent prayer and thanksgiving,
are two foundations in life as a disciple
of Jesus.

4.
"praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication
for all the saints--"
(Ef 6:18)

Continuous prayer - conversation with God,
in the Spirit, that's how God wants it,
where we also bring all brothers and sisters in Christ
before the Lord.

5.
"Hear me when I call, O God of my
righteousness! You have relieved me
in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my
prayer."
(Ps 4:1)

God hears us when we cry out to Him,
and helps us. He opens a way,
and shows us mercy.

6.
"Again I say to you that if two of you
agree on earth concerning anything
that they ask, it will be done for them
by My Father in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered together in My name,
I am there in the midst of them."
(Matt 18:19-20)

God loves that we communicate wit Him,
and He wants us to live in fellowship with
other people; when we pray in fellowship
with other people, we practice the love God has
for us, and for the world.

7.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done
for you."
(Joh 15:7)

Jesus wants us to be in fellowship
with Him, to be part of His Body,
and to live as He teaches us to live.
If we do, he promises us to hear
our prayers, and fulfill them.

8.
"Likewise the Spirit also helps in
our weaknesses. For we do not know
what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself
makes intercession for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered.
Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is,
because He makes intercession for the saints
according to the will of God."
(Rom 8:26-27)

Even the Holy Spirit in us prays for us,
in a way that God understands, because
the Holy Spirit knows God's will and
prays according to the will of God.

9.
"Then He said to His disciples,
"The harvest truly is plentiful, but
the laborers is few.
Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to
send out laborers into His harvest."
(Matt 9:37-38)

We need to pray about more workers who
help people find
the Kingdom of God, and take the step into it;
And we are also workers...

10.
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
in everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
Jesus."
(1 Thess 5:16-18)

As we are in Christ (as born again)
and part of His body, we can and should
always and in all circumstances have a deep inner
joy and gratitude within us, and be
in constant communication with Him.
That is God's will for us.

11.
"Now this is the confidence that we have
in Him, that if we ask anything according to
His will, He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we
ask, we know that we have the
petitions that we have asked of Him."
(1 Joh 5:14-15)

God wants to answer prayers, but there are conditions
for it: that we ask for what He wants to give
us, and trust that He will therefore
give it to us. give it to us.

12.
"But you, when you pray, go into your room,
and when you have shut your door, pray to your
Father who is in the secret place; and your Father
who sees in secret will reward you openly."
(Matt 6:6)

The personal heartfelt prayer to God,
is best done in seclusion, you and God together.

H. Thankfulness and joy

1.
"I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad
and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name,
O Most High."
(Ps 9:1-2)

We have reason to thank and praise
God for what He has done, is doing and is
willing to do in our lives. He is the
Most High, and we can abound in joy
and praise to Him.

2.
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say,
rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men.
The Lord is at hand."
(Phil 4:4-5)

Every day, no matter what the day looks like,
we can always rejoice, because we belong to God;
He walks with us, strengthens us, teaches us.
God wants to be seen by others
through us.

3.
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
to which also you were called in one body;
and be thankful."
(Col 3:15)

When we belong to God and are part of
His family, we can feel peace,
real peace, and we can be
grateful.

4.
"Sing to the Lord, For He has done excellent
things; This is known in all
the earth. Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of
Zion, For great is the Holy One of Israel
in your midst!"
(Jes 12:5-6)

Our God, the Lord, is a God who walks
in the midst of us, through the Holy Spirit.
We who know him, are part of his
family, have every reason to praise
Him, and our task is to make
Him known throughout the world.

5.
"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot
be shaken, let us have grace,
by which we may serve God acceptably
with reverence and godly fear."
(Heb 12:28)

We have been given Grace to belong to a kingdom
that cannot waver; therefore we need
to take care of this grace and serve
God with reverence and godly fear.

6.
"Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those
rejoice who seek the Lord!"
(1 Chron 16:10)

We have all the reasons to rejoice,
we who seek the Lord, because He will
meet us.

7.
"And every creature which is in heaven and on
the earth and under the earth and such as are
in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard
saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb,
forever and ever!"
(Rev 5:13)

Our Lord is on the way to final victory,
when everything created will bow down to
Him and give Him honor and glory, forever
in eternity.

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy
might remain in you, and that your joy might
be full.”
(Joh 15:11)

The perfect joy is in Jesus,
and we can partake of it by
remaining in his love, in
by following
his commands.

9.
"It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night,"
(Ps 92:1-2)

God loves when we thank and praise
Him for all the good he gives us,
especially for His grace and Faithfulness
to us.

10.
"And whatever you do in word or deed,
do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks
to God the Father through Him."
(Col 3:17)

To do something in Jesus' name, is to take on
Jesus' character in everything one says or does,
to just say and do things He would
have done; and it's good to live in constant
thankfulness to God, always.

11.
"The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become
my salvation; He is my God, and I will
praise Him; My father’s God, and I will
exalt Him."
(Exodus 15:2)

It's good to be able to worship
and praise God! He is our power
and our protection.

12.
"Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me,
bless His holy name! Bless the Lord,
O my soul, And forget not all His benefits..."
(Ps 103:1-3)

Always express great gratitude to the Lord,
in both thoughts, feelings and will, for all the
good he does for us.

I. Our purpose is for others

1.
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love
one another; as I have loved you,
that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples,
if you have love for one another.”
(Joh 13:34-35)

It is through the love between those
who walk as disciples of Jesus,
that other people understand that they
are disciples of Jesus.

2.
"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as
God in Christ forgave you."
(Ef 4:32)

We need to relate to each other
in the same way that God relates
to us, with kindness, mercy
and forgiveness.

3.
"Then Jesus came to them and said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore out and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age.”
(Matt 28:18-20)

Jesus gives us our Mission as believers
and belonging to Him: to Go out,
Make disciples of All nations, baptize them,
and Teach them to keep All that He has commanded us.
This is said on the premise that He
has All power in heaven and on earth, and with
the consequence that He is with us All days
until the end of time.

4.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies and God
of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we
may be able to comfort those who are in
any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
(2 Cor 1:3-4)

What we have received from God we will share.
It is His will.
The comfort and care we receive from Him,
we will share with others.

5.
"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill
the law of Christ."
(Gal 6:2)

We are dependent on each other in the "Body of Christ".
It is only together that we can fulfill
the assignment we have been given by Jesus.

6.
"By this we know love,
because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought
to lay down our lives for the brethren...My little children, let us
not love in word or in tongue,
but in deed and in truth."
(1 John 3:16, 18)

Through our actions we prove our
love for God. When we in practical acts
show our love for other people,
it can at the same time show our love for God.

7.
"The generous soul will be made rich, And he who
waters will also be watered himself."
(Proverbs 11:25)

Give and you will receive.
He who looks after the needs of others,
will have his own needs met.

8.
"For just as each of us has one body with many
members, and these members do not all have the same
function, so in Christ we, though many, form one
body, and each member belongs
to all the others."
(Rom 12:4-5)

We are dependent on and need each other,
we who are part of God's family, we who belong to
the body of Christ.
We have received different functions, different callings,
but we have the same goal.

9.
"And the King will answer and say to them,
‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it
to one of the least of these My brethren, you
did it to Me."
(Matt 25:40)

Jesus identifies with his "body", us,
his brothers and sisters in the Lord;
Therefore, in our actions toward our brethren
of faith in the Lord, we also act toward Jesus.

10.
"And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we
do not lose heart.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all,
especially to those
who are of the household of faith."
(Gal 6:9-10)

In our actions we show who we belong to;
Persistent "sowing" will eventually give harvest,
and we will sow "everywhere" - doing good to all
people, especially to our brothers
and sisters in the Lord.

11.
"But now you also must complete the doing of it;
that as there was a readiness
to desire it, so there also may be a completion out of
what you have. For if there is first a willing mind,
it is accepted according to what one has,
and not according to what he does not have."
(2 Cor 8:11-12)

If we have the ability to help a brother
or sister in the Lord who is in need
we should do so; we are welcome with what we have,
because it is the good will that counts.

12.
"Therefore, whatever you want men
to do to you, do also
to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."
(Matt 7:12)

Treat other people well;
as we want to be treated
by other people, so should we
treat them.
This is of great importance.

J. Encouragement

1.
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my
help come from? My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth."
(Ps 121:1-2)

God is our help; he who protects us
against the danger, is no less than
the creator of the Universe!

2.
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not
your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
(Joh 14:27)

What Jesus can give us, is something the world
cannot offer us: the Peace from Him.
Therefore, we can reject all worries and fear.

3.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are
heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am
gentle and lowly in heart, and you will
find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy
and My burden is light.”
(Matt 11:28-30)

Who is our real employer?
A worldly authority, or Jesus Christ?
The work in the world makes us tired, but...
the work for Jesus gives us peace for our
souls.

4.
"And my God will meet all your needs
according to the riches of his glory in Christ
Jesus."
(Phil 4:19)

When we are in Christ we
do not need to lack anything.
He will meet our
needs.

5.
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me
you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation;
but be of good cheer, I have overcome
the world."
(Joh 16:33)

What helps us to overcome all the difficulties of life
with good courage and great power,
is the Peace we hav in Jesus Christ.
As part of Gods family, we are already conquerors,
for Jesus has already conquered the world.

6.
"You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon
me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it."

(Ps 139:5-6)

Like a warm blanket we have wrapped ourselves in,
we are surrounded by God;
Like the coffe that permeates
the piece of bread dipped in the coffee,
so God permeates us.
God is above, below, behind, in front of
and in us, and... well how this goes
is too difficult for us to understand.

7.
"Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from
God the Father and from the Lord Jesus
Christ, the Son of the Father,
in truth and love."
(2 Jon 3)

The Truth of God the Father and the Son
Jesus Christ, shows our need for
Grace and Mercy.
When this is received, Peace will come.
This is how we are surrounded by the Love of the Father
and the Son.

8.
"No temptation has overtaken you
except such as is common to man;
but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be
tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation
will also make the way of escape,
that you may be able to bear it."
(1 Cor 10:13)

We cannot escape temptations in life,
but God limits them to those we
can handle, with His help.
He shows a way out.

9.
"And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will
be with you, He will not leave you nor
forsake you; do not fear nor
be dismayed."
(Deuteronomy 31:8)

Those called by the Lord, He will stay
near; we can safely walk with Him,
when we let ourselves be led by Him.

10.
"Let us therefore come boldly
to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy
and find grace to help in time of need."
(Hebr 4:16)

When we are tempted, or get thoughts
of doing things we know are sin,
then we can boldly come to
Jesus, ask for help, and receive it -
in time of need.

11.
"Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust
and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my
strength and song; He also has become
my salvation.’ ” Therefore with joy you will draw water
From the wells of salvation."
(Jes 12:2-3)

We have a Friend, a "Brother" and Lord,
whom we can lean on, may be
and ARE dependent on. Therefore we need not
be afraid but can sing praises.
He is a well with "clear water", to which we have free access
to get what we need.

12.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave
nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one
in Christ Jesus."
(Gal 3:28)

What unites us believers in Jesus,
is that we are "in" Christ, that we have become a part
of his Body, part of his family,
where he himself is the Head, Lord.

K. The Hope and the Future

1.
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for He who promised is
faithful."
(Heb 10:23)

We need to remain in our confession that
we belong to Jesus, because it is through a
Relationship with Jesus Christ that we get
Peace with God.

2.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope."
(Jer 29:11)

God has only good plans for us
and our lives. He will give us
a future and a hope, when we
stay close to Him.

3.
"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection
and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die,
he shall live.
And whoever lives and believes in Me
shall never die. Do you believe this?”
(Joh 11:25-26)

Man is created to live in eternity,
together with God.
The condition is that we have "faith" in the Lord,
that we walk with the Lord daily in our lives,
in thoughts, words and deeds, as born again.

4.
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor principalities nor powers,
nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth,
nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us
from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our
Lord."
(Rom 8:38-39)

There are powers both in
the world and the spirit world that want to prevent us from
performing the work of God, from our walk with
the Lord;
But nothing that now exist or that
will come, will be able to separate
us from the love of God in Jesus Christ,
our Lord, to us.

5.
"...being confident of this very thing, that He who has
begun a good work in you will complete it until
the day of Jesus Christ."
(Phil 1:6)

He who has begun a good work in us will
continue it; When the Lord begins to work with
us, just as the potter works with the clay,
he continues until it is finished,
unless we leave Him, step down from
the turntable.

6.
"Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet
been revealed what we shall be, but we know
that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, f
or we shall see Him as He is."
(1 John 3:2)

As "children of God" we live in an "already now,
but not yet"; We have already experienced
a part of the Kingdom of God and who we are in Christ;
but it not until Jesus comes back,
that we will be transformed and become as He is.

7.
"He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense;
I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God."
(Ps 62:6-7)

It is only with God, the God of the Bible,
that we can find true peace and tranquility,
He is our hope, solid ground to
build on, our salvation.

8.
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know
them, and they follow Me.
And I give them eternal life, and they shall
never perish; neither shall anyone
snatch them out of My hand."
(Joh 10:27-28)

When we have Jesus as our Shepherd and
Lord in our lives, it is Him we follow,
and we recognize when He speaks to us.
He comes with Life, eternal life,
which begins already here and now; no one can
pull us away from this.

9.
"Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens
and a new earth in which righteousness dwells."
(2 Pet 3:13)

See, God will make everything new.
He will recreate the earth and
a new heaven, where everything and everybody
is according to God's will.

10.
"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast,
"So then, my beloved brethren, let every
immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
(1 Cor 15:57-58)

It is in the power of the Lord that we will prevail,
if we endure to the end.
It is through Him that we can live a
victorious life.

11.
Then they will see the Son of Man
coming in a cloud with power and great
glory.
Now when these things begin to happen, look up and
lift up your heads, because your redemption
draws near.”
(Luk 21:27-28)

Jesus Christ will return,
and it will happen with great power and
glory.
When we see the promised signs for this
arrival, we can expect our deliverance
to be near.

12.
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached
in all the world as a witness to all the nations,
and then the end will come.
(Matt 24:14)

Our most important task in life as God's children,
is to share the Gospel with other people;
When that mission is complete, then
Jesus Christ will return...
