  • What does it mean to be Christian? Idag – och på Biblisk tid?
    In Biblical times the word Christian (Χριστιανός) meant that you was like Jesus Christ in your behavior; the word was actually used as a nickname for those people who followed the Way, a name that was given the movement of disciples who followed Jesus.
    Today the word has lost much of this meaning; the word christian kan mean many things, for example that you go to a church once a week, that you are born into a christian family, or that you as a child was baptized into the Swedish state church. In fact the word is used only 3 times in the Bible (Acts 11:26; 26:28; 1 Pet 4:16).
  • The word disciple
    Ett ord som används mer flitigt är ordet ”Disciple” (μαθητής). We find this word more than 250 times in the Bible. Then what does the word disciple means? It means that you follow somebody, and learn to behave, or act som denna person gör, alltså ursprungsbetydelsen av ordet Kristen. Jesus kallade sina lärjungar att ”följa” honom. Vissa gjorde det. Andra inte. (Matt 4:19; 19:21; Mark 10:21; Luk 5:27; John 1:43; John 21:19). Hur går det till när vi ska lära oss någon praktisk syssla? Som t ex att laga mat; cykla; eller köra bil? Vi måste öva, lära oss av någon som redan kan detta, någon som vi ”följer”.
  • We are called to do the same deeds as Jesus - and even greater ones.
    God promised that We will do the same deeds as Jesus did, and even greater ones (Joh 14:12) The disciples made mistakes, but finally learnt.Matt 17:14-16; Lik 10:17)
    Do we know how to baptize in water, the Holy Spirit, heal the sick, deliver from deamons, and teach other people how to be disciples to Christ?
    If not, where can we practice this? For example around the kitchen table, in a living room, at work, out on the street.
    The Great Commandment(!) säger följande: ”Då trädde Jesus fram och talade till dem och sade: ”Åt mig har getts all makt i himlen och på jorden. Gå därför ut och gör alla folk till lärjungar! Döp dem i Faderns och Sonens och den helige Andes namn och lär dem att hålla allt som jag befallt er. Och se, jag är med er alla dagar till tidens slut.”
  • Then, how do you become a disciple?
    Yes, by following somebody who already function like this.
  • Then, what is the first step if you want to become a disciple to Jesus?
    Jo, att bli ”Bornagain”. (Joh 3:1-8)
  • Then what does it mean to be ...born again?
    It means that you, first, Repent which is the first steget in i en försonande Relation med Gud. Omvändelse är – att man säger till Gud: ”Förlåt, det blev fel. Jag ångrar mig, och vänder mig bort från det beteende som jag vet du Gud inte gillar. Jag ska sluta med detta”, och man väljer från den tidpunkten att i fortsättningen gå i en ny riktning, nu mot/till Gud och göra hans vilja istället och efter bästa förmåga följa och lyda det Han säger. När vi gör det, så är löftet från Gud, att Han förlåter oss, och ”renar vårt samvete” från skuldkänslor för detta (1 Joh 1:9), och samvetet återfår sin känslighet för vad som är rätt och fel. Detta beskrivs i Bibeln som att vårt ”hjärta av sten” byts ut mot ett ”hjärta av kött”. Gud kommer då inte längre komma ihåg dessa synder (Hes 33:14-16) (Hebr 10:16; Hes 36:26; Rom 2:15)

    Secondly, it means that you get baptized in water (by full submersion in water).
    Thirdly, it means that you get baptized with the Holy Spirit..
  • Why do you need to get ...born again?
    This is explained by The Gospel.
