{"id":249,"date":"2021-05-20T21:00:08","date_gmt":"2021-05-20T19:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesusfellowshipnetwork.org\/?p=249"},"modified":"2021-05-20T21:00:08","modified_gmt":"2021-05-20T19:00:08","slug":"vad-ar-kyrkan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesusfellowshipnetwork.org\/en\/2021\/05\/20\/vad-ar-kyrkan\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Church?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is Church?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>It is NOT about the building.<\/em><br>   &#8211; <strong>Acts 7:48 \u2013 50<\/strong> (God didn\u00b4t want us to build Temples)<br>   It is about Fellowship.<br>   &#8211; 1, 2, 3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0UP, IN, OUT<br>   God's presence in my life (<strong>Luk 6:12<\/strong>); Spiritual family (<strong>1 Cor 14:6<\/strong>); on mission (<strong>Mark 16:15-20<\/strong>)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>It is NOT about the building.<\/em><br>   - It is NOT about a program.<br>   - It is NOT about employees<br>   - It is NOT about budget<br>   ... in a Box.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>It's about Organic Church; Simple Church, the way it's portrayed in <strong>Acts 2:42-47.<\/strong><\/em><br><em>\"They devoted themselves to the apostles\u2019 teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.\"<\/em>.\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Why do we do church?<\/em><br>   - To Build Up<br>   - To Learn<br>   - To Serve<br>   To have Fellowship<br>   - To share the Lords Supper (communion) together.<br>     <strong>1 Cor 14:26<\/strong><br>     People want to be loved; failing that admired; failing that feared; failing that hated and despised. They want to evoke some sort of sentiment. The soul shudders before oblivion and seeks connection at any price.<em>What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a<\/em><br>      <em>revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.<\/em>.\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Simple Church, is defined by that it is:<br>   1. <strong>Jesus centered\u00a0<\/strong>- a church where Jesus is the beginning, the end, the purpose, the means and the goal. Everything is about <br>       making disciples of Christ and give Him the glory.<br>   2. <strong>Missional\u00a0<\/strong>- a church with the goal to not to gather but to\u00a0<strong>send.<\/strong>\u00a0Jesus said \"Go and make disciples<br>       of all nations!\"<br>   3. <strong>Small<\/strong>\u00a0- a church that intentionally is small, often with no more than 3-12 people.<br>   4. <strong>Anywhere<\/strong>\u00a0- a church that can meet wherever people live their lives; in a home, in a cafe, in a<br>       restaurant, in a workplace, or some other place. When the Bible speak of a church it doesn\u00b4t speak of a<br>       building. A church is, according to the Bible, a gathering of believers, in which the believers meet and have <br>       fellowship together.<br>   5. <strong>Relational<\/strong>- a church whose foundation is close fellowships  and fellowships instead of programs,<br>       collection talks and activities.<br>   6. <strong>Organic<\/strong>\u00a0- a church that function as a living organism which is formed by it's DNA. The values and<br>       the foundational principles which are there from the beginning in the church are transferred to next generation (of<br>       disciples).<br>   7. <strong>Multiplicating\u00a0<\/strong>- a church that grows through multiplication. When it grows too big to function<br>       as a spiritual family then people are sent out to start more  churches.<br>   8. <strong>Everyone are Priests<\/strong>\u00a0- a church where every believer is a priest and have something to offer. All believers have an ability<br>        to serve each other and other people. This includes to baptize new believers and share the Lords  <br>        Meal (Communion) together.<br>           - Why are we all Priests?<br>             <em>The Old Covenant<\/em>\u00a0- Only a few special people had a close encounter with God - pure hearts.<br>             <em>The New Covenant<\/em>\u00a0- All people can hear from God, through the Holy Spirit, through the new heart <br>             you receive when you become born again.<br><br>   9. <strong>Serving leaders<\/strong>\u00a0- a church with unpaid leaders that functions as spiritual parents in a spiritual <br>        family.<br>        Leadership is\u00a0<strong><em>never<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0a position but an important function in a simple church and works when<br>        we serve other people.<br>   10. <strong>Connected\u00a0<\/strong>- a church that doesn't isolate itself from  others but instead stays connected to other simple <br>         churches locally, regionally and nationally.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>A network of simple churches often functions like this:<\/strong><br>   1. <strong>A group with its own identity<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(independent)\u00a0<\/strong>- The different churches in a network are independent and <br>       self-functioning groups, but is also dependent on each other.<br>   2. <strong>Built on relations\u00a0<\/strong>- A network built on personal relations between people in the different groups.\u00a0<br>       Without relations - no network.<br>   3. <strong>Non-hierarchical\u00a0<\/strong>- A network of simple churches in different locations that strive for to be decentralized<br>        and non-hierarchical.<br>   4. <strong>Leadership\u00a0<\/strong>- In a network there are different leadership functions. In the different groups there are non-salarized <br>       elders\/church leaders who often work in pairs or in a team. In a network the teams often are arranged by leaders  <br>       with an overall responsibility for the network. Some of the leaders function as apostles, prophets or<br>       evangelists, sent out to serve in different locations. Network leaders who are sent out in this way<br>       sometimes have economic support and backing and sometimes not.<br>   5. <strong>The network meets - The churches in the network sometimes meet. In many cases once a month or more often. When you meet the purpose is training, broader fellowship and the possibility to see the variety in the Kingdom of God in a way which sometimes is hard to do in a separate small group.<\/strong>\u00a0- The churches in the network sometimes meet. (English version further down) Jag \u00e4r en person som \u00e4lskar Jesus och som vandrar och f\u00f6ljer Jesus dagligen som l\u00e4rjunge till Honom. Jag l\u00e4rjungatr\u00e4nar \u00e4ven flera andra personer att g\u00f6ra detta ocks\u00e5, b\u00e5de lokalt regionalt och delvis globalt. Jag har vandrat med Jesus i m\u00e5nga \u00e5r, sedan i 20 \u00e5rs \u00e5ldern, d\u00e5 jag m\u00f6tte Jesus f\u00f6r f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen, inte s\u00e5 att jag s\u00e5g Honom, men han m\u00f6tte mig, som ett svar p\u00e5 en b\u00f6n. Jag kommer fr\u00e5n ett icke-kristet hem, men fick \u00e4nd\u00e5 tidig Kunskap om Gud och Jesus, genom en \\\"s\u00f6ndagsskola\\\" jag gick till. Senare fick jag med kunskap genom svenska kyrkans \\\"Ansgars\\\" (liknande Scouterna). D\u00e4refter upph\u00f6rde min kontakt med kyrkan. Det var f\u00f6rst under min gymnasietid, som en b\u00e4nkkompis fick mig att inse, att man kan ha en personlig relation med Gud, att man kan K\u00e4nna Honom; och efter ett tag b\u00f6rjade jag s\u00f6ka det. Mitt m\u00f6te med Gud, var att han bekr\u00e4ftade f\u00f6r mig att man just kan l\u00e4ra k\u00e4nna Gud. D\u00e4refter b\u00f6rjade jag l\u00e4sa Bibeln p\u00e5 egen hand; och nu var det som om hela Bibeln \\\"\u00f6ppnade sig\\\". Tidigare ber\u00e4ttelser jag l\u00e4st fick nu ett helt annat djup. N\u00e5got var v\u00e4ldigt annorlunda j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med tidigare. Something was very different compared to before. I then also learned that we, as disciples of Jesus, can pray for the sick, lay hands on people with some type of illness, and then they will be healed. I got to experience that then, and I walk in it and continue to grow in it even today. I was also taught that as a disciple of Christ one cannot \\\"live in sin\\\", but instead \\\"fall into sin\\\", but with the promise that if we turn our whole heart to Jesus, we will receive forgiveness for our sins, and can continue our journey forward. I was taught that as disciples of Jesus, Jesus sees us as \\\"Saints\\\", not as \\\"sinners\\\". We can call ourselves \\\"God's children\\\" which we also are after our rebirth. I was also taught that during the rest of your life as a disciple of Christ you need to work on \\\"renewing your mind\\\", i.e. to focus on Jesus, to learn to distinguish His voice among all the other \\\"voices\\\" that want to take control of our life, and begin to obey\\\/follow it - the good Shepherd.
